Media Play
Media Play sells books, movies, music, videogames, and electronics. After not finding what I wanted I still ended up buying the sixth volume of One Piece, which was on sale for $6.36. After selecting the manga I didn't originally come for, I took a walk around the store. I first looked at the DVDs they had. There was a large collection available, including quite a few Anime.
They also carry all different types of movie genres. I next looked at the book section. They really don't have that great of a variety and it looks like they were trying to get rid of the books they had in stock. They had a decent magazine section with many popular mainstream mags available.
I really don't care for mainstream music so I looked into some techno. I came across a few artists the Perspective supports such as: Paul Oakenfold, The Crystal Method, Thievery Corporation and Amon Tobin. Their techno section was decent. I took a look at other genres and saw that they carried major artists. They also have an anime music section, which surprised me.
Finally on the last wall of the store came the video games. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but I saw the major titles from the three dominating consoles (Xbox, PS2, and GameCube). I also saw some PSPs and Nintendo DSs. The PSP was available but I was deterred by the $250 dollar price tag. Perhaps if the price goes down I'll get one but the DS is a lot more attractive at this point for anyone not making the big money.
The last part of the store I looked at was their very small electronics section. This section was comprised of CD players, stereo systems and headphones shit you should already have basicly. They had nothing to write about. All in all, Media Play is the place to buy manga, anime, video games, DVDs, and music. Media Play's prices aren't too high and the Perspective was happy to learn they do have some weekly specials for the most price conscious shoppers.
Pros: A decent variety of DVD, video games, music, anime, and manga.
Cons: Do not go shopping for books at Media Play. Go to Borders instead.
